Driven by increases in health risk factors, cardiovascular-related complications during pregnancy are on the rise in the U.S., even among people with no previous heart disease, according to new study in the Circulation journal

A review of medical records for over 56,000 pregnancies across a 20-year period revealed that approximately 15% of pregnancies were affected by cardiovascular complications. These complications included conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and hypertension-related issues.
