Welcome to ACLS on Vancouver Island!

In this ACLS course on Vancouver Island, you will practice hands-on learning that builds on your Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, teaches you when and how to use the latest treatment recommendations for your patients, and takes your skills as an advanced healthcare provider to the next level.

    Some students prefer an entirely, in-person learning experience. Our traditional, beginning-to-end instructor-led courses meet these learning needs and offer a valuable learning experience.

     

    ACLS Provider

    Our ACLS Provider course will help you to develop skills – as a member of a healthcare team – in simulated situations that mirror real-life cardiac-related emergencies in your work life.

    Duration: 14 hrs, Certification length: 2 years

    ACLS Renewal

    Our ACLS Provider Renewal course tests and strengthens your high-level skills and knowledge involving core ACLS concepts in simulated, cardiac-related emergency situations to help you in your practice. In this concentrated course, your proficiency will be evaluated in high-quality CPR, high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, acute coronary syndromes, and more.

    Duration: 8 hrs, Certification length: 2 years

    Blended (online & in-class)

    Blended learning combines the strengths of online learning and in-classroom training. Among its many qualities, ACLS Blended provides a convenient, flexible and robust option for busy health professionals and emergency responders. This option is particularly feasible when balancing the demands of working and learning are critical.

    Part 1: Online: a self-paced, cognitive learning and assessment program with easy access to a rich array of resources, activities, learning videos, knowledge checks and an online exam. Once you have completed the first part of the program you will move on to the in-person portion.

    Part 2: In-class: an instructor-led, classroom-based session where you will benefit from ample opportunity for hands-on skills practice, expert coaching, debriefing, team scenarios and comprehensive skills testing.

    ACLS Blended Provider

    Our ACLS Provider course will help you to develop skills – as a member of a healthcare team – in simulated situations that mirror real-life cardiac-related emergencies in your work life.

    Duration: Self-paced online & 10 hrs in class, Certification length: 2 years

    ACLS Blended Renewal

    Our ACLS Provider Renewal course tests and strengthens your high-level skills and knowledge involving core ACLS concepts in simulated, cardiac-related emergency situations to help you in your practice. In this concentrated course, your proficiency will be evaluated in high-quality CPR, high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, acute coronary syndromes, and more.

    Duration: Self-paced online & 6 hrs in class, Certification length: 2 years

    CME/CPD Credits & Accreditation

     

    Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

    All Heart & Stroke ACLS courses are eligible for two (2) credits per hour under Section 2 of the MOC Program as “Traineeships.”

    College of Family Physicians of Canada

    Heart & Stroke ACLS Provider and Provider Renewal courses (but not Experienced Provider) are eligible for two Mainpro+ Certified credits per hour.

    Other Colleges / Regulatory Bodies

    All Heart & Stroke ACLS courses are recognized across Canada. We are committed to continuous assessment and accreditation. Check with your college or professional affiliation to see if this course is eligible for credits.
